Lilienthal, David

(1899-1981)
   American lawyer and civil servant. Born in Morton, Illinois, he became a lawyer in 1923. Until 1931 he served as a utilities lawyer in Chicago. In 1931 he was appointed to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission; later he became director of the Tennessee Valley Authority, and in 1946 chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.
